Thanks for that note.
It appears, after about 24 hours, that the ".app" bad name ending has also
eradicated the -1753.
If your info is correct (and I trust that it is) then perhaps that "generic
error" was being thrown because of the ".app" ending. That isn't
specifically documented at the Apple site, but the -1750 notes leave open
that the result is not predictable.
I have one outstanding report on that -1753 and then I'll know for sure.
