I have in the past perused many app's dictionaries and all are, without
a doubt, totally useless to the casual user. For example, which command
in the iPhoto dictionary clearly shows you how to rename a photo. Or
insert text into a field, as was my query. A dictionary normally
explains the meaning of a word and gives some examples. Applescript
dictionaries do none of that. The only way to find any examples of
syntax is to open a pre existing script. Cumulus at least provides a PDF
file with their application which gives not only the names of the
commands and functions but real life examples, even if some do not work
in more recent versions of Applescript.
Remember that Applescript is described and promoted as "intuitive" and
"simple" or even "user friendly". Pity they were talking about using it
after a years experience.
Kelvin.

Kelvin,
Looking at an app's dictionary is always a good place to start.
I don't see any way to refer to "record 1" in the iPhoto dictionary.
(Don't feel bad... I've been scripting since AS's inception and
*still* make basic errors like this. Often.) ;-)
