Actually, I've been instructed specifically (and repeatedly) by my boss to
turn the "Out of Office" Autoreply on. I manage a desktop department, but as
I suspect is the case with a lot of Mac people in PC environments, I wear a
lot of different hats, so a lot of people contact me for various reasons.
People in this company tend to get upset if I don't reply pretty quickly to
their e-mails. Irony of ironies...
In any case, the issue here was not the aesthetics of autoreply messages (I
hate the damned things, too), but my --er-- implementation of the feature
(like I had to remind you).
Michelle Steiner & WJ Shack sent me some helpful advice & a script to deal
with this in the future. Thank you both very much!
What a way to learn a lesson. Can I get out of the barrel now?
