I'm tempted to experiment with scripts that require the SE beta, but would,
of course, need to be able to check for its presence so as not to confuse
the user with needless error messages.
Anyone have a quick way to check for the version of the current System
Events? And why the heck doesn't 'info for' include the version info for an
application file?
In my usual 'do it the hard way' thinking, all I can come up with on the fly
is checking the creation date and assuming that anything after 11/02 should
be the beta, but I'm also just as certain that method is prone to failure.
