JA,
Within the next 4 months or whenever Panther goes GM, the System Events
1.2 beta will be past history. Your idea of checking the creation date
is kludgy but about the only way to go. That beta has been around for a
while and any obvious bugs or problems would have been addressed with a
new release. I hope somebody sends a more elegant solution, but I'm
stumped.
