Does anybody have any ideas how to view ONLY visible files and not see
invisible ones? If there is no way to do this, please let me know this

If you specify "of type" in the "choose file" line, all invisible folders and files will be suppressed (well, at least those that are invisible because of a leading dot in the name (e.g., .dsstore); I don't know whether any other invisible files will be suppressed).

e.g. set foo to choose file of type {"APPL","TEXT"}
