That's no problem. The suggestions offered to you do not mean that you can
not get a value from FileMaker.

The problem you are now having is just a "learning AS" problem which will go
away soon enough.

Successfully? Hmmm. Okay. But then why are having a problem understanding
that you can pass a value from FM to AS? How would any script work if it
couldn't get values from other applications?

It _is_ called inter-application communication, BTW.

Go to Macscripter.net, look at the left-hand menu, and you will see a header
near the bottom titled "Language Guide". Those are links to two formats of
the ASLG - the AppleScript Language Guide. Bookmark or download as
appropriate. Well, and also read as needed.

You should have seen the fish I caught. Huge! It was so big that I just
had to throw it back, because I knew I could never fit it in the truck. :)
