There's now "Teach yourself AppleScript in 24 hours" by Jesse Feiler
(Sams Books). About 120 pages in it are devoted to Studio, and I
thought gave a reasonable introduction, based on the copy I quickly
peeked at. I'm debating getting it, but as I've been using Studio for
over a year now, I'm not sure how useful it would be for me.
As for the Apple documentation, there are 2 pdf tomes--'Building apps
with Studio' & the 'Terminology Reference'. So that's 2 reams. But I'm
afraid Studio isn't as easy to use as FaceSpan was, so I think you'll
have to face up to some reading one way or the other to get to grips
with it.
Something else I've noticed that may have a bearing on Bills original
observation is that there are a number of 'Windows to Mac' switching
books out there now. There have been a number of questions on this list
coming from switcher scripter/programmers.

Is there a good hard copy reference for AppleScript Studio. I've
downloaded Apple's documentation, but I'm loathe to use a ream of
paper to print it, and I find that reading it on the computer just
doesn't work for me. (I'm like that with all manuals, actually;
that's why I bought a print copy of the ASLG.)
