Anyone know of any good source of information on FileMaker Pro's
internal scripting. I've figured out a bunch of things, but would
like to have a reference of some sort. The user manual is a bit thin
on this subject.

There is this pdf booklet which I bought online for $4.95, but it
might cost a bit more now:
Guide To FileMaker Pro Calculations
And Functions

I was at that site. They have a lot of guides available. But the
scripting guide is in 5 volumes, and each one is $40. That's about
CDN $60. It'd be more than CDN $300 for the set. It would make more
sense to buy a copy of Scriptology, if it wasn't out of print.

According to the blurb (on an FM user site) it was on Xmas special
reduced from around $15. It isn't very well formatted to be a book
and I think it is actually a large training note (122 pages). I found
it pretty useful because even the books which take you through some
scripting did not have the functions and calcs in such detail.
Why not email dwayne and check if it is still available.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a copy of Scriptology either
and ISO has told me they won't be doing a new edition until FMP 7
later this year.
Another couple of useful books are: Advanced Filemaker Pro 5.5
Techniques for Developers by Moyer and Bowers and the Colombre book.
They are both for FMP 5.5 but still very relevant for FMP 6.x.
There's another book by Chris Kubica coming out in April called _The
book of Filemaker_ published by No Starch Press and it's supposed to
be pretty comprehensive being over 1,000 pages long.
Kind regards
Oz
