Come come! It's always been in the Standard Suite and a property of
windows, documents and the application.
Like I said, Script Editor's selection-object class is not part of
the Standard Suite. The only thing it has in common with TE+'s
selection-object class is that both share the same name, which means
zip.
Script Editor Suite : Classes and Commands for working with the Script Editor
Class selection-object : (inherits from item) A way to refer to the
state of the current selection.
Properties:
contents item -- The contents of the selection.
character range point [r/o] -- The range of characters in the
selection.
Perhaps it could've been called something else to avoid encouraging
false assumptions about how it works. But such is life...
Script Editor Suite : Classes and Commands of no relation to those in
any other application
Class not-the-selection-object-you-were-looking-for : A way to give
JD a bad hair day.
Elements:
only in your dreams, mate
Properties:
<Inheritance> anything but text [r/o] -- Abandon hope, all ye
who inherit from me
contents item -- The party's all in here, babe. What more
could you possibly want?
character range point [r/o] -- I must've had a point once,
but have forgotten what it was.
