Then all I can say is that it has no place anywhere else and that they've got it wrong! Users have to be able to use Standard terms in standard ways from application to application. This is all symptomatic of the general malady.

It is wrong for

tell application "System Events" to <<class tab >>
--> tab group

and

tell me to <<class tab >>
--> " "

to resolve to different things altogether. This is the sort of behaviour that was expected of the worst osaxes in the past and ought not to happen at Apple.
