Tried searching for part of the file name, but think it is in a package.

Similar problem with Acrobat, but stuffed that OK.
I get that too. I have 9.2.2 and 10.2.4 on the same volume and the copy
of Script Editor installed with the latter is now the official owner of
the "ToyS" creator type in my Desktop File. When I double-click a script
file in 9.2.2, the 9.2.2 Finder tries to open the OS X version of Script
Editor, which can't run in that environment. I'd guess that the
gobbledygook is "Script Editor" in Unicode.
If the 9.2.2 Script Editor is already open, double-clicking one of its
files will successfully open the file in that Script Editor. It seems
that the Finder checks the current processes first before resorting to
the Desktop File.
