Any time you ask a question, always say that you're using OS 9 and no one
will answer with Perl. (JD, that means you. ;-))
But do you really expect everyone in OS X to avoid all the wonderful 'do
shell script' capabilities of AppleScript in X just because it's too much
trouble for you to skip those messages? You ought to be ashamed of yourself
for asking people to do that.
Just learn to skip messages that are irrelevant to you. I do that all the
time. Many of the messages here concern applications, like Quark, that I
don't have and never expect to have, so I just skip them. Everyone else does
the same thing. So should you.
