That depends on the scripting addition surely? I don't think anyone can complain about the speed of calling Read/Write Commands. Less than one tick to write 400K to a file (see my recent timed mail.app script) can't be described as slow. As to AS being incredibly fast, I'd call that the over-statement of the month.
