Trouble Editing The Contextual Menu Scripts

  • Subject: Trouble Editing The Contextual Menu Scripts

Apples page on Scriptable Applications relating to the Script Editor's Contextual Menu Scripts, says:
"All the scripts described here are fully editable and can be altered to address your specific requirements and needs."

I tried copying on and opening it to edit and noticed it has as empty string for the target of the tell Application command, thus it won't compile and the syntax won't check. What's the trick here? This is a great feature, but somewhat muted if I can't customize them.

Any one puzzled by this?
TIA
