Actually, it's even worse than that. It seems that the developers of
Virex were USING Fink, hard-linked their software to use packages
installed by Fink, and then distributed their software in such a way
as to be incompatible with Fink. Oops. Read more in McAfee's help

Very enlightening, and certainly should give anyone pause at the idea
of running software that is given a lot of power to
delete/block/protect you when the programmers of said software seem
to have been VERY sloppy.

Well, Fink had their directory structure first, so I would say it is Virex
that is stepping all over it. Not to mention that Virex isn't a useful
program to begin with (and not because Viruses don't affect the Mac, I am
not that foolish yet).
