First off, Virex should be tarred and feathered.

Second of all, it is trivial to install fink into any directory you want. There is nothing special about /sw, it's simply the default (unlike Virex which demands it be installed exactly, regardless of your setup and doesn't even bother to check if it's obliterating existing files. Did I mention that Virex should be ridden out of Mac OS X on a rail?)
