When I produce scripts here, I have the users heavily involved in it's
design. Then after testing, I have any necessary training, make sure
they understand what the script is doing, how they would have to do it
by hand if necessary ( to demonstrate the savings and the alleviate
fears of a catastrophic failure) and I am available when the script
goes into production. Finally, I'll check back often to see how it's
working out and make any necessary tweaks.
It's usually scripts the do a long process from start to finish that
can be most troublesome. Those scripts where if they do what they are
suppose to do, they save a wheelbarrow full of money. If the scripts
chokes for some reason however, and the user has to resort to going
back to square one and doing the entire thing by hand; that can leave a
bad taste in the mouth of the user.
Some people would rather deal with the evil they know rather than one
they don't ( a script they don't understand, that breaks for reasons
they don't understand, depending on someone that may be difficult to
work with or get a hold of and results in uncontrollable stress)
I'm not implying anything about bad about you so please don't infer the
worst:)

I was wondering how you people, as scripters, launch and then promote
your scripts with the users? Do you have a big launch event? Do you do
nothing at all?
I'd be interested to know your thoughts!
