Slowdowns

Hello all,

I have recently experienced slowdowns of applescripts when large network
volumes are on the desktop. Moving a simple file to the trash from the
local hard drive can take 30-60 seconds. Without the network volume mounted
the script runs normally. I have other more complicated scripts than this
but this example points out my problem. In some cases I can dismount /
remount the volumes but in other cases this cannot be done. Why would a
network volume matter to AS when moving a local file to the trash or simply
calling "version" in order to see the applescript version.

These volumes are NT 2000 Server volumes using Services For Macintosh. Any
ideas?

Regards,
