Would a semicolon break anything down the line? If not, it's easier
than using the linefeed.

The semicolon is used in unix shells to identify the end of a command and
the start of a new one on the same line. In fact the semicolon will only
execute the command following it if the command before it was successful. If
it errors then the second command is not executed.

Thanks. In this case, then a semicolon is better because if the terms for the effects change in future versions of the OS, the first line will break and there will be no need for the second to execute.
