When accessing remote 'puters through file sharing in Classic and
actually selecting the visible Desktop Folder in the displayed remote
directory, the icons of various things, but not all, do tend to occupy
their respective places on the remote desktop if the view of the window
is set to Icons or Buttons, and that goes back to 8.1 on my little
LC475 that I keep as part of my network mix; removable media and
volumes definitely don't show up, a little OS X prophecy i guess ;).

Which is, of course, counter to the way it worked in Classic Finder.
There, the icons in the window were in the exact same locations as
the icons on the desktop, as I always expected they should be.
Go figure.
I'm pretty sure the Classic Finder couldn't display the contents of
the desktop in a window.
