But with even more people (graphics pros and IT people) using and

switching to OSX, the ROIs even better illustrate the point.
No they won't. In fact, the IT staff will take a look at the dates on the
studies, and laugh you out of the room. From then on, nothing you say will
be taken seriously, as you'll be that luser that tried to use ancient ROI
studies. You would do the same thing if some tried to use ROI talking about
hardships with System 7 and networking.
I mean, if you WANT to make the IT staff feel better about dumping the Macs,
then by all means use the studies. But if that isn't the end result you
desire, you'd be better off documenting all the costs *beyond* initial
hardware. Talk to vendors, get prices. Talk to programmers, get time
estimates and convert that to dollars. Show that Mac OS X can, and will
integrate into modern network management systems, and that major vendors,
such as Netopia and LANDesk specifically support Mac OS X. Show that thanks
to things like CUPS and Samba, you can play nice with Windows networks, and
that Panther, out in less than two weeks makes this even easier. Answer
their fears, show real money involved in switching compared to staying with
Mac OS X, and you'll have a far easier time of it, and you won't look like a
fool.
There is nothing in an old ROI study that predates what you are really going
to use that has any relevance to modern enterprise computing and the Mac,
except as historical interest.
