If you're referring to 'alias files' (as seen on your hard disk), the 'alias
file' class in the Finder's dictionary has an 'original item' property.
That's what you want.

'alias' on its own is an AppleScript term that keeps track of a file on your
computer even when you change its name or location. Don't mistake it for the
Finder's 'alias file' (same as what we call "alias" outside of AppleScript).
