Michelle,
I believe it is because Find in Finder excludes the /System directory.
You have to specifically add it as a place to look. As for the default
set, it should be:
Address Book
DVD Player
Finder
iCal
iChat
Image Events
iMovie
iPhoto
iTunes
Mail
QuickTime Player
Safari
Script Editor
Sherlock
StandardAdditions.osax
System Events
TextEdit

The other solution (the least drastic) is to add the application
itself to your Library window. It can be found at
/System/Library/CoreServices/Image Events.app.
Thanks Tim. Any idea why I couldn't find it with the Finder's "Find"
command?
Can you tell us what the full default set of apps and OSAXen in the
library should be?
