Dream maintenance script
Dream maintenance script

I am hoping to put together a script which, when run, will perform the
following maintenance activities in sequence (overnight and unattended):
1. Launch DiskWarrior 3.0 and fix directory on volume X, replacing said
directory without user intervention...upon completion...
2. ...launch Drive 10 and perform a specific set of analyze/repair tasks on
same volume X (when TechTool Pro is ready for OS X, this will take Drive
10's place in this chain)...upon completion...
3. ...launch Norton Utilities and analyze/fix same volume X, then switch to
Norton Speed Disk and defrag same volume X.
Now, DiskWarrior comes with sample AppleScripts, but the one called "Rebuild
Directory" cannot complete its task without the user intervening to click
the OK button to give permission to replace the directory with the newly
optimized one. [NOT TRUE - I FIGURED THIS OUT...] Also, at the beginning
of the script, DW requires that the admin password be entered to proceed.
Can these two steps be automated? I looked through the "Rebuild Directory"
script and could not find a section that seemed to deal with these events.
Does anyone know enough about the scriptability of the other two
applications I mentioned (Drive 10 and Norton Utilities) to say whether the
script I'm dreaming of is actually achievable?
Thanks,
Bill Planey
UPDATE:
Before posting this I got an answer from Micromat, in case anybody didn't
already know the following:
Bill,
Neither Drive 10 nor TechTool Pro 4 are scriptable.
Sincerely,

So I guess my solution needs to involve QuicKeys...
