Originally, it was part of somebody's idea that we feeble benighted
scripters should not be allowed to see the inner workings of AppelScript as
it might confuse us, as I was told quite forcefully by a very distinguished
AppleScript maven when I was starting out and eager to learn everything I
could. I'm still angry about it.

Was that Cal beating up on you? I remember the discussion but not the bad boy.

You should stop being angry. Takes too much energy to be angry. Spend that effort lobbying to get it changed. Or ask Chris why it won't be done. That's a better way to expend that energy, don't you think?
