Defining buttons separately allows number & names of buttons to be
changed on the fly & means that one can refer to an item in the
list:
I forgot about naming buttons on the fly. I knew that there were
likely logical reasons why button numbers weren't the answer because
it seemed too simple. ;-)
OTOH, if we can say 'default button 1' then why not 'cancel button 2'?
(coming at it from setting rather than getting)
And it would be really nice if DD would then have logic such as "if
button 1 is ok, and button 2 is cancel, and a third button exists,
then position buttons 1 and 2 together and left-align button 3"
instead of the non-HIG equidistant buttons we have currently.
