I think you're misconstruing it. It's suggesting _another_ testing
tool, that comes as a bonus of implementing AS. You write a set of
test scripts. Next build you run them. The errors might be in the
app model, or in the scripting code, or wherever -- they still need
to be found. At least one large developer is, I understand, using
this process with considerable success. As an _extra_ tool.
A friend of mine whose company creats a Mac application run in kiosk
mode (i.e., no user will ever write scripts for it) implemented
AppleScript support in the application several years ago precisely
for the purpose of testing. He created a suite of test scripts that
he launches when he leaves for home at the end of the day and if
something goes wrong it's evident in the morning. He's found it most
useful.
