Thanks Hanaan. Of course I decided to try using the description field rather than the script pane after i posted the message. :(

Actually the title will be the same but Wiley is going to release a new, updated version of AppleScript for Dummies.

Anyone who's got suggestions as to what new stuff--ie post system 7.5 :) -- you think newbies would be interested in I'd be glad to hear it. I'm going to use 10.3.3, Script Editor 2.0, and AppleScript 1.9.3 as the basis for everything. Remember that a Dummies book isn't competing with "AppleScript The Definitive Guide" so my audience is mostly non-programers.

Tom,
Try this:
1. Type some text in the Description pane
2. Use the Show Fonts menu item and apply some formatting to that text
3. Select the text

Now, you can copy the style and paste it on other text.

If this is to appear in "AppleScript for Dummies II", I want full
credit :-)
