At 08:26p -0700 04/18/2004, trinko didst inscribe upon an electronic papyrus:
As i was testing out a script i noticed something that seems odd. FMP
7 files, .fp7, don't seem to have a file type.
Some do; some don't.
If you created a file from FMI's templates, it may not have file/creator info.
However, if you created a file from scratch, it will.
Therefore, you may wish to run a script (or use File Buddy) to fix
the included templates.
My question is since these files don't seem to have a file type is
there any way in a choose file dialog to restrict the selectable
files to just filemaker databases?
Set their file/creator types. (FMP7/FMP7)
As an aside i thought that file types and creators are being phased
out of OS X--in favor of those stupid extensions.
Nope, there is no phasing out. Some NeXTies wanted to, but they were wrong.
Shouldn't choose file be updated too or am i missing
something--other than my sanity?
Well, it would be nice if Apple were to add a filterproc or whatever,
and a corresponding command parameter...
-boo
drummers in high heels -- go sheila!
