Don't FMP relationships limit the size of the key to a fairly low
limit? I know some versions back it was useless to do it this way, due
to all the errant matches you'd get with long keys. It's easy to do in
AppleScript or FMP though - many methods, especially if you don't care
WHICH record you delete, you just want to delete all but one of the
dupes. I would just do it in AppleScript myself to avoid creating new
relationships, calc fields, or other cruft
Yep, fair enough points.
In case Wayne's still interested in a non-AS solution: FileMaker 6
considers the first 20 characters of each word, up to a total of 60
chars. FM7 looks at the first 110 chars, up to a return or eofield.
