List Archives & email addresses

  • Subject: List Archives & email addresses

I like the fact that the archives for this list are publicly available so
that we can Google for information etc.

I also appreciate the fact that Apple parse the data to erase our email
addresses to ensure that we don't get spammed.

So why oh why have we been subscribed to mail-archive.com where our email
addresses are all available for anybody and any spambot to harvest?

<http://www.mail-archive.com/email@hidden/>

The message bodies may say "<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>" but every html page
contains:

<INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="user" VALUE="your_name">
<INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="host" VALUE="you_domain">

With your real names and domains for all to see. And a helpful button so
that anybody and his dog can send you an email :-(

As these people state that they don't respond to confirmation requests I'm
presuming that somebody from Apple subscribed "email@hidden" to
the list?
