John,
I already have the software. It is my own applescript app that I am
building.
I want to call "do shell script" from my software inside an "if"
decision making.
Example:
if variableSomethingIsWrong is true then
do shell script "dial phone bla blah"
end if
Thanks for the explanation.

May be, as my program develops, I will think about trying to get my

Please forgive for not understanding "network management" or "SMS
service".
Okay, so network management software is what checks your computer to
see
"what's wrong", and then is able to take action, such as sending email,
messages, dialing a phone.
SMS is Short Messaging Service, or a way to get short text messages on
your
cell phone.
You need to have some kind of software monitoring your server so that
it
knows that something's not right. I ask about SMS because there's a
number
of tools that do this, and it's a LOT more useful than just telephone
numbers.
