color information for a file

  • Subject: color information for a file

Hello all,

I am trying to figure out a way to find what the color spectrum is for a file. My ultimate use would be to have QuarkXPress be able to tell me, but I would be willing to let the Finder tell me. I have taken a look at the Finder and the properties, but no information there. I have taken a look in Quark and have not been able to find anything that says what the color spectrum of an image is. I know Quark can do it because it recognizes what color the file is when it is importing into Quark.

Does anybody know how to recognize what color spectrum a file is?

thank you.
