Hi All,
I'm late for work and I haven't had a chance to try your suggestions. I'm
firing this out because it seems I left out an important piece of this
puzzle. The file I'm trying to open is on a second volume which has OS9.1
on it. It is in the path "Macintosh HD:Desktop Folder:My Folder:My File".
Actually my app is running in the same folder as the file ("Macintosh
HD:Desktop Folder:My Folder:My App"). I apologies for the confusion. I
really didn't think this would be an issue because I use the full path
including the volume name it's on. Also when I stated I'm running this from
a compiled application, I didn't mean an AppleScript compiled App. It is an
app written in C and it calls the AppleScript from an event handler. I hope
this clears up some confusion on this and when I get home I'll try
everybodys suggestions and report my progress.

Thanks again,
Craig
