While we are on the subject of oulook sending meeting requests does
anyone have a script or a method to parse the e-mail from these users
so whne you receive it in mail.app or some other program it will add it
to your iCal.
TIA

The reason for that is that Outlook doesn't use proper standards for
its
.ics files. Entourage (Entourage X, at any rate) knows how to
interpret the
skewed Outlook version, but Outlook doesn't know how to treat correct
standards. (For too long it was used just as an "intranet" within
companies,
but it really should start behaving better one of these days. Fat
chance.)
Until that ever gets fixed (and it will be worth checking in the next
version of Entourage if you have an Exchange server in your office -
not too
long to wait), you'd have to script Entourage to send out Windows-type
.csv
files which can be imported into Calendar folders in Outlook. Or
(shameless
plug) you could get my shareware "Export-Import Entourage X" which
does it
for you. If you tried it a few times with one copy, and inspected the
text
and .csv files it makes, you might be able to work it out yourself,
although
there are a lot of hurdles for the unwary. But not if you need
recurring
events - parsing those recurrence strings can take months.

Subject: OT Entourage send Meeting invite Outlook on PC
Hello,
Slightly off topic.
I work in a office of both Macs and PCs. We want to create a
calendar that
has everyone's deadlines on it. The Outlook and Entourage is the
only thing
we have to do it. PCs can send meeting requests to my entourage, and
I can
accept but when I try to send one via entourage to the PC they don9t
get an
attachment just a generic email.
Any help is greatly appreciated to make this work.
Thanks,
Jason Bourque
