hi,

Why does this work?
run script alias "iMac HD:Library:Scripts:Universal Scripts:SetSoundVolume"

and this doesn't?
run script alias "startup disk:Library:Scripts:Universal Scripts:SetSoundVolume" -- File not found

My goal is to make a script that will work on two machines.

Hey Bob,

Try this:

set scriptPath to ("" & (path to startup disk) & "Library:Scripts:Universal Scripts:SetSoundVolume") as file specification

run script scriptPath

Yours won't work because "startup disk" isn't a viable path.
