Doubtful, since Dominic and the rest left the database idea behind because
it was quite problematic.
Like the Desktop Database in OS 9, which has to be rebuilt every second day?
The database as a filesystem approach wasn't used for BeOS. The BeOS
FileSystem, is a rather traditional journaling filesystem with
extended attributes, which are kept indexed on the system level. No
stupid Finder to mess things up!
This was fast (enough). It's proven to be working. And it's stable.
Let's hope that those ideas are not lost for good.

True.
But to be of any value, indices are needed for extended attributes.
And then the whole thing looks a lot like a database, doesn't it?
