But you wrote me in private that using on error took care of the
problem, so the above suggestion is moot (or is it academic)?
Oops, must have hit Reply instead of Reply All.
I've never quite understood what "moot" really means, so I just go with
"academic" or "beside the point" ;-)
I thought I had the 'on error' trick working but it turns out it only
works right under Script Debugger. Elsewhere, "object not found"
errors just sail right past the error block. :-(
Gary Lists has suggested several times that FMP doesn't do the 'whose'
clause very well, and recommends invoking filemaker scripts to do these
finds. I'd like that to be an absolute last resort (I have enough
trouble finding where I left my glasses). Do other people feel that
FMP's 'whose' clause is utterly broken and no good for anything? Or
are there specific limits within which it can be trusted?
