Yikes. Agreed.

Brennan, there are some OSAX that do that -- not very well, mind -- and
AppleWorks does it rather well.

Did you really want to do all that work _just_ to add HTML tags to mimic
styled text data?

You might give it a try elsewhere, just to see if it will do what you want.
You could even boot into Classic and use an existing OSAX if there are not
any ports.
