checking if a menu item is clickable

hi!

i was wondering, is there a way to check if a menu item
of a application is clickable?

i was wondering about something more general. often
apps are considered not-scriptable. to what extend
are they not controllable? does it simply mean that they
do not implement actionscript functions for some functionality
they provide?

or are things like checking if a menu item is clickable also
impossible?

thanks alot!

ciao!
florian
