JD was evicted from this list, not of his own volition. He can be found on

Gosh, other than being a cranky ol' fart, I never noticed anything
from JD that I thought was bad enough to get him evicted.
Fortunately, I'm subscribed to MacScrpt too, where he is still
cranky and scripts don't get mangled. Life is sweet. ;-)
Didn't he discover and post evidence that this list could handle all
255 characters without mangling, if it were configured properly.
Yes, he did, and naturally he wasn't exactly obsequious in doing so. That
might well have been the true reason - that he had previously offended the
list keepers (I'm most definitely NOT referring to the great AppleScript
team here, but rather the Apple User Groups list server minders), showing
them up as too dumb and obstinate to do things right. But the immediate
cause and pretext was that he divulged a couple of obscure details from
Panther beta testing on this list. The current list underling had him
removed from both the beta program and from this list. Now you know.
Thanks for the info. Given the idea that it might have had nothing to
do with the beta test issue, I'll remember to never mention that
Apple's own mailing lists are the _only_ lists that I'm subscribed to
where AppleScript scripts are mangled. Of course, since there is a
very liberal policy on signatures, one might... ne'er mind. ;-)
It's too bad that this list has lost/discarded a very talented scripter. :/
