Quark 6 indexing

I get sent Word documents that need indexing in Quark 6 using the Index extension. The files are already marked up (words for indexing use strikethrough). So I want to select these words (sometimes several words) and then click the "Add" button in the Index palette. The Index xtension doesn't seem to be scriptable, so I'm looking at its interface with UI Browser . Before spending the next week puzzling over this I thought I'd ask if anyone has had experience of using Quark's Index xtension and suggestions of how to proceed. My thought was

tell quark
for every page
select strikethrough text
click add to index button
continue with every occurence in the story
