Agreed.

And I'm sure that you could work around the 2k character limit by breaking
the original script into sections and then using "new" and "append" versions
of the protocol to rebuild the script in the Script Editor window.

After a bit of experimentation, I'm now generating my URLs by curling the
data rather than using Safari - and it seems to be working quite well.

A text version of the script I'm using is on this *conventional* web page:

http://prometheus.idea-digital.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=255

And, naturally, a TinyURL version can appear instantly by clicking:

http://tinyurl.com/2ncqg

Maybe somebody at Apple could donate some web space on a server with mySQL
and we could have our own URL script database using something like:

applescript-url.apple.com/abc123
