backups went to folders called "Monday", Tuesday", etc, rather than
"A","B",...

Then you could (pseudocode):

action to folder ("path:to:parent:" & myDay)

No loop required.

Oops, I forgot the current date...

I like this idea, now if myDay is always current date, we have:

action to folder ("path:to:parent:" & word 1 of ((current date) as string))
