...........MAC can use the scripts, what about PC users? Would Visual basic be the answer? Or am I on wrong/confusing/lot of work track?

Sure, but my point was that FileMaker can tell the difference between
a Mac and a PC, it can figure out which OS you're running, which
machine you're sitting at and run the code accordingly - and the Macs
can use Applescript.
