I would prefer to see a ScriptMaker-ish text-based language, so FMP
developers could easily leverage their ScriptMaker knowledge. I want
it to support user-defined functions, a-la FoxPro's language (which
was based on dBASE III), and maybe even have those UDFs usable by
calc fields. As a text-based language, it could be copied easily from
one place to another. We would lose auto-updating of
db/table/field/list names, but we would gain so much more. It
wouldn't have to replace the existing ScriptMaker mechanism; it could
run side by side and even interact with the other language. Like
Excel's XLM-VBA interaction. Hmm, that might even allow some double
dereferencing so the text language could leverage the auto-updating
of the dialog-built language...
