I think it's been reported here before that having FileVault turned on in
Panther prevents script properties being saved at the end of a script run.
I've found that telling users having problems with scripts that can be
traced to properties not being updated to turn off FileVault fixes the
problems. I've got two questions:
1) Why can other modifications to files made by the user or an app being run
by the user while logged in with FileVault on be perfectly OK, but not
modifications to script properties?
2) I'm still using resource-fork compiled scripts for the most part (because
Entourage's script menu won't save properties in data-fork compiled
scripts). Is this the reason I have trouble? Can modifications to data-fork
compiled scripts be saved with FileVault on? How about properties in script
applications? (I'm saving those in pref files now, so it's not currently an
issue for me.)
