Applescript normally wouldn't. That's not it's job. The problem is, prior to
panther, there was no real way to control the print event.

<http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2002/tn2082.html> provides an
"improved" print event, but it doesn't.bloody.allow.print.to.bloody.file!!!!

GAH.

You're going to have to use some lower level workarounds. I recommend using
macps2pdf for the final stage, as you can get FAR better output than Quartz
PDFs anyway..
