Well, against the advice of some I've written a script that disables
Rendezvous:

http://www.Gnarlodious.com/Mac/AppleScript/Finder-Rendezvous.html

So far works as expected.

Notes:
1) Directory Access doesn't do a thing on my OS. Maybe in the future.

2) The script creates a Startup Script that should write a system.log entry
reporting the disabled service but does not work. Any ideas why?

3) iChat insists on connecting to Rendezvous at start, there appears to be
no way to prevent the ensuing error message.

Any testing and/or input appreciated.
